Who We Are

Hi, we’re Hanah and Hun. He handles the renovations and repairs: plumbing, electrical, a hot tub install, an entire floating deck he built from scratch, all self-taught. I handle the design side of the house, the furnishings, secondhand flooring finds, the paint colors, and the day-to-day of guest communication and pricing.

We’re also just big Airbnb users ourselves. We book one in pretty much every country we travel to, so we’ve seen what a good host experience looks like from the guest side too, which turns out to matter a lot when you’re trying to build one yourself.

Why We Started

We love to travel. Honestly, that’s how this whole thing started. There’s something about being a good host that comes from knowing what it feels like to be a guest: the places that made you feel taken care of, and the ones that made you feel like a transaction. We wanted to build the first kind. So a few years ago, we bought a run-down place in the Adirondacks and turned it into an Airbnb. Then a second one. Then two long-term rentals back in Philadelphia. What we didn’t fully plan for was doing all of it on top of full-time jobs.

Where HostAITools Came From

HostAITools grew out of that experience. By day, I’m a senior UX designer working on AI products at Google. (Views and reviews here are entirely my own, not Google’s.) When you spend your career evaluating whether AI products are genuinely useful or just good demos, you start applying that same instinct to your own business.

Running short-term rentals well takes constant attention: pricing, guest messages, turnovers. So we did what tech people do: we started throwing AI tools at the problem. Some worked right away. A lot didn’t. It took real trial and error to figure out which tools earned their monthly fee and which were solving a problem we didn’t have.

Why HostAITools Exists

That’s the wall we figured other hosts were probably hitting too: full-time jobs, limited hours, and an endless stream of AI tools all claiming to save you time, with no easy way to tell which ones actually deliver.

So we built HostAITools to close that gap, bringing the same critical eye we use professionally to the tools built for hosts like us. Every review comes from actually using the tool on our own properties wherever possible, honest pros and cons included.
